About Me

I’ve Been Where You Are…

I’ve been where you are—searching for clarity, feeling disconnected, or standing at a crossroads. The human experience is full of transitions, losses, and renewals. I believe in meeting people right where they are, with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

Helping others uncover their ‘best self’ isn’t just my profession—it’s my life’s work. Authentic Living was created to offer a safe, collaborative space for self-discovery, growth, and healing.

After more than a decade leading people and strategy in corporate settings, I redirected my work toward supporting individuals and families navigating addiction, trauma, and transition.

My counseling journey is grounded in empathy, clinical training, and a personal belief that every person has the capacity to heal—especially when they feel supported, understood, and truly seen as their truest self.

About Angela

LLPC, CAADC-DP

I am a former business executive turned counselor, with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Addiction Counseling specialization) from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Wayne State University. My clinical work is deeply informed by my own life transitions and professional experiences, which have taught me how profoundly we grow when we feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.

My counseling approach is grounded in person-centered, trauma-informed care and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and strengths-based practices shaped by Social Cognitive Theory. I’m passionate about group work and helping clients rebuild trust in themselves through compassion, authenticity, and self-efficacy.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring three decades of study and experience in personal development, leadership, and integrative practices. I’m also a certified yoga instructor (focused on philosophy rather than exercise), a trained death doula, and a ritual elder offering grief and transition workshops.

These experiences—personal and professional—have taught me that healing happens through connection, courage, and awareness. My goal is to walk beside you as you rediscover your strength and live more authentically aligned with your values.
