Confidentiality & Professional Disclosure (Michigan)
As a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the State of Michigan, I practice under the supervision of a fully licensed clinician in accordance with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
All client sessions are confidential, except in situations required by law—such as when there is reasonable suspicion of abuse, neglect, or risk of harm to self or others. Client information is protected according to HIPAA standards and the ethical guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Before we begin working together, you’ll receive a full Professional Disclosure Statement (linked here) and Informed Consent, along with initial intake documents so that I can understand your needs and background prior to our first session. We will review these together so you have the opportunity to ask questions. I believe in transparent, collaborative care, and want you to feel fully informed from the start.
All records are stored in secure, encrypted electronic health record systems that meet applicable privacy and compliance standards for mental health care.
